Dating with clients, is it a good idea?

Hello Thach Vu. I think you answered your own question in your original posting, but if you feel compelled to get other opinions about your rule, I would suggest that you stick with it.

In VN, dating with clients is very popular that's why many people think nothing wrong with it.
In other developed countries, it's definitely wrong in term of legality. It may be prosecuted for charges of sexual abuses or harrassment and lack of professional duty depending on different situations. Therefore, most organisations have its strict & clear professional boundaries & principles in client relationship.

It is perfectly fine if you don't mind losing the client and possibly your job.

If it is a real situation and you think it is worth while then that is what you need to do. At a minimum you need to give the client up to one of your peers, quietly without mentioning your interest in the client. Place as many layers between you and the client so you essentially have no business relationship. Then and only then might you be in a position to have see if the client is interested in a relationship. Anything else and you risk losing the client anyway and your job.

Finding the right person often requires great sacrifice and delicate measures. If you are not ready for this then give up any thoughts of a relationship.

Dating with clients is not wrong, but this is a rather sensitive problem. Because it relates with your company, your clients and your present job. Before making up decision, you must think carefully.
