Job Description

A. Main Objectives

The FP&A Finance Manager’s role is to provide financial and strategic support to the organization and assist with driving business performance by improving financial analysis, planning and process improvements. Act as the analytical engine of the Group to provide insight and to help support ‘optimal’ business decision making and interact heavily with members of management and executive team to ensure that the senior management team is appropriately communicated with on actual & forecast performance. 

Key responsibility areas include:

  • Lead the preparation of internal/external financial reports, Board of Directors materials, monthly financial analysis materials, and provide ad hoc analysis for the Group and 15+ subsidiaries.
  • Develop and implement FP&A best practices, procedures and processes to drive best in class forecast and planning, business insight and analysis to support management and the executive team to establish goals and measure the performance of the Company.
  • Routinely communicating business, financial and operational performance trends using appropriate metrics; deliver clear verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management that translates finding into tactical and strategic recommendations/ alternatives improve business performance.

Develop and implement FP&A best practices, procedures and processes to drive best in class forecast and planning, business insight and analysis to support management and the executive team for ‘optimal’ business decision making.

B. Key Roles & Responsibilities

1/ Budget & Forecasting

  • Drive an efficient, effective and comprehensive process for developing financial plans and analysis that links to the strategic objectives.
  • Develop and monitor the company’s annual budget and monthly forecasts, which shall include establishing budget tools, setting timelines and acting as project manager for the company, ensuring all budgets are accurate, comprehensive and completed on time
  • Prepare and monitor the company’s long-range strategic planning models.

2/ Financial Analysis, Reporting and Monitoring

  • Lead the preparation of the monthly reporting package that includes full financial statements, comprehensive Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting, operational Dashboard reporting, analysis of key business trends, actual versus budget variances and comprehensive executive level explanations of differences.
  • Routine communication business, financial and operational performance trends using appropriate metrics.
  • Deliver clear verbal and written explanations of analyses to senior management that translates finding into tactical and strategic recommendations.
  • Drive strategic analysis through building dynamic and precise financial models
  • Monitor performance and competitive dynamics of strategic partners and competitors. Develop and enhance competitive intelligence, customer intelligence, geographic economic data and technology trends.
  • Assist in putting together presentations for board meetings, and other important events.
  • Provide financial modeling, financial analysis and valuation support for acquisitions, new product development, long-term contracts and other ad-hoc financial projects.
  • Understanding key business drivers and communicating operating/financial performance
  • Develop thoughtful and easy-to-follow presentations to effectively communicate ideas to key stakeholders

3/ System, Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Ensure the compliance of financial accounting & reporting procedures and processes.
  • Actively own key finance and business process, provide a high level of thought process to drive improvement; recommend areas for improvement and lead projects to enhance the reporting and analytical infrastructure.
  • Develop various forecasting models; such as cash, capital and business.
  • Coordinate with IT to maintain and develop template per management's requirements.
  • Proactively develop, maintain and extend strong networks and trust-based relationships with cross-functions colleagues and external parties.
  • Maintain relationships with subsidiaries finance teams to ensure quality deliverables and proper information flow.
  • Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.

4/ People Management

  • Manage and develop the FP&A Team. Building new businesses, particularly building the talent and the team.
  • Drives accountability and responsibility through to the team. Delegates successfully and communicate openly and effectively.
  • Proactively develop, maintain and extend strong networks and trust-based relationships with cross-functions colleagues and external parties.
  • Maintain relationships with subsidiaries finance teams to ensure quality deliverables and proper information flow.
  • Conduct regular training for team and cross-functions on new process, policies and best practices sharing related to FP&A.

Job Requirements

1/ Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Business/ Economics required. MBA/ CPA/ ACCA/ CFA is an advantage for career development.

2/ Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A or equivalent. 3+ years of experience leading a team and managing people
  • ERP experience. Systems agnostic, able to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and tools.
  • Business Performance evaluation
  • Budgeting & Forecasting for multiple business units
  • Experience serving as a strategic business partner to other areas of an organization
  • Strong internal/external communicator being able to build strong relationships, influencing and presenting at a senior level
  • Advanced systems, analytical and modeling skills
  • Experience in FMCG/ Media/ Communication/ Entertainment/ Auditing industry a plus.
  • Working experience in Vietnam
  • Having experience in FMCG/ Media/ Communication/ Entertainment/ Auditing industry a plus and MBA/ CPA/ CFA/ ACCA holder is preferred.

3/ Knowledge

  • Knowledge of local market environment & trends, government policy andregulatory requirements
  • Passionate about the Media, Communications, and Entertainment business

4/ Technical Skills

  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
  • Excellence presentation, reporting and communication skills, both verbal and written

5/ Soft skills

  • Fluent in English
