Many people dream of owning their own business, but many of those same people will spend their entire career working for someone else. What is preventing you from becoming an entrepreneur? What is keeping you from the dream of business ownership.

There are 3 things that prevent you from being an entrepreneur:
1- Yourself, are you a B-Business person or a E-employee, S-Self employed, I-Investor. A Business person loves challenges and go over their uncomfort zone. They love to discover new things (even things they don't know but they know they need it), understand it, face it themselves, organize a process for someone else to deal with it, then move on to their next challenge. Most people do not want/can not go to the next UNCOMFORT ZONE, their next challenge. They cannot be an entrepreneur. If you are an architect and you need to find clients, you will need to go through Marketing and Sales yourself, you can not leave your company future in the hands of a "sales director you hire because you can't do it yourself... he will cheat you or steal the business from you.2- Your employer: "if you are good, he will pay you enough so that you feel comfortable and don't think about competing with him or leave him, starting your own business. I guess that so many excellent B are stuck with their company because with the comfort of 60,000,000VND/month, married and 2 children at an International school, you are too comfortable to risk anything. But your boss will never pay you enough so that you become richer than him.
3- All other people/friends/colleagues 97% are:
- jealous they dont want you to be too successful or free/happy,
- they point out risk because they hate risk (they don't want this for you because they "love you"
- they think it is impossible -because for them it is impossible-
- they think for you, you should be happy, why look for something else with 60Mn/month -they would be very happy!-NB. #3 is the most dangerous, because when you overcome #1 you already feel unsecure, then when #3 comes in you feel even more unsecure... this is when you give up on your dreams.

Make sure it is your passion. Owning and operating your own business brings a lot of negatives along wiht the positives. For me the positives are well ahead of the negatives - you need to make sure they do for you as well.
You don't need high levels of education - you do need street smarts - that is you need to be able to cut through the clutter and get to the things that matter, negotiate and have good selling and people skills.
You do need some money these days, although it does not need to be a lot. If you have a solid business plan that stands up to strict due diligence, supported by accurate financial projections, then the money will be there somewhere. You may have to go looking and sell the project to an investor, but that is just part of the game.
Lastly you must have fun. Hard work, long hours, always short of money in the early stages, trying to balance work with other life duties will get you down qucikly if you don't have strong passion for what you want your business to be.

Well it's not that most people are scared of owning a business most people just don't know how! Many people want success and desire success and even set goals but many people don't really know how to run a business or create a successful one at that! Quite frankly it has been any easier today! There are systems that need to be in place and the average business will fail within the first three years! At the end of that day even the people that start businesses start them for all the wrong reasons! What matters most is how do you measure your success and what impact do you have to the people you serve! If you can answer these two questions clearly then you are half way there to success.....your success on your own terms!

That's such an interesting question. For me, the answer is because it is not the right time to go forward. It's not the matter of money, I need a little bit more time to research the product before feeding it till the day "he" gets maturer and find his own way to go and create a new generation.
