Tips to manage employees in the creative industries?
Inspiration in creative job is very important, creative guys like to work without time constrain and the task quality depends very much on their mood. I find it quite difficult to control or to make them discipline. Please share if you have any tips for me?

Agree the when you are very creative, you tend to be weak at discipline. My tips is instead of just give them the task, I spend more time to tell about the important of the delivery, especially ON TIME, then let them be creative and flexible in delivering that. However remember that creative person need to be remind often, so don;t let them alone for too long.

Hi chi! Sure that working with creative guys requires your creativeness in management :) I think creative staff , may be, don't like their boss going around & reminding them that the deadline is coming as this action will kill their motivation. Instead, we could create some kinds of contest with fun and rewards such as an outing on weekend for the whole team, cinema tickets for the best ideas/solutions/products that are picked by the client, etc.
Also, we could find ways to remind the team by designing or making clips,animation, or comic strips with clear and consistent message on RESULT & DISCIPLINE and make sure these appear at every corner of the office. Clear messages which is spread widely, consistently and under creative forms could bring good effects :)

I think inspiration is the key to *work* with the geeks - for what we call that kind of people.
