Rule 80/20 application

Trong công việc, những việc thực sự quan trọng chỉ chiếm 20% tổng số lượng công việc nhưng có thể mang lại 80% hiệu quả chung; 20% số khách hàng chính sẽ đem lại 80% doanh số, 20% sản phẩm hoặc dịch vụ lõi tạo ra đến 80% lợi nhuận… Nói một cách đơn giản, nếu bạn có danh sách mười việc trong ngày, thực tế chỉ có hai việc đáng làm. Do đó, hãy viết ra giấy tất cả những hoạt động, mục tiêu… quan trọng nhất trong ngày, trong tháng, trong quý, trong năm và trong cả cuộc đời mình.
Khi viết ra mục tiêu và có sự suy nghĩ, chiêm nghiệm, bạn sẽ dễ dàng xác định được đâu là những việc quan trọng nhất (nằm trong khoảng 20%). Theo tác giả, chỉ có 3% người trưởng thành viết ra mục tiêu cuộc đời một cách nghiêm túc và không phải ngẫu nhiên, họ thường thành công hơn từ 5-10 lần so với những người có cùng học vấn, cùng khả năng nhưng sống thiếu mục tiêu. Một khi đã chọn được “con ếch” lớn nhất, nên ăn nó ngay lập tức để sau đó, bạn có thể thong thả thưởng thức dư vị của chiến thắng: “Tôi đã làm được việc khó khăn nhất, vậy thì những thứ khác có gì quá ghê gớm!”

Famous rule 80/20 is the fundamental rule to be applied in the various field. With the sale guy, the listening in 80% and taliking in 20% are very important to the success in a deal. And in the married life, this rule will be very effective when the listening in 80% to be applied. With the leader, the rule 80/20 will help to focus the prioity in the 20% of job in which 80% job remained will be completed through effectively. Moreover, leader will also base on the rule 80/20 to monitor & manage the key team among other in producing the turnover.

That is not a very well spread concept really, I guess very few people heard about it... of course anphabers did hear about that one.
In brief 20% of our action bring 80% of reward/satisfaction or profit. The theory goes you then should do only the 20% things that you benefit most.
THIS IS A GREAT THEORY, WHICH LIKE MOST THEORY CANNOT MEET PRACTICAL REALITY.
HERE IS THE THEORY:
FRIENDS: 20% of the people you meet really makes your life better. Don’t see the 80% others. You have this friend from school that is now adult and always come ask for money or make your day depressing because he messed up and ask your help to repair the damage.
FAMILY: 1/5 family member is great, why do you continue meeting the 4 other cousins so often. At a certain stage you decide that this cousin or brother is too much to suffer, you don’t see him.
CLIENTS: 20% of our clients make 80% of profit, “fire” the 80% that makes zero or very low profit, you will then have 20% of your time busy with those 20% “perfect client” and you can find other perfect clients with 80% of your time free (remember you fired the 80% not good, so 80% time free not taking care of those)
EMPLOYEES: waow! don’t touch those. 20% of employees make 80% of the profit, they have a specific profile. So recruit more of those and as you recruit 1 fire 1. Famous CEO Jack Welsh at GE managed to do this to 15% of the company and it was very tough around the 4th year because at that time, you start firing friends who started the company but as evolution goes, they can not follow...
WORK: 20% of your work is really making things happen or go ahead, 80% is around the coffee machine, repairing things, waiting for a download,
THE PRACTICE MAKES IT IMPOSSIBLE BECAUSE OF:
Psychology/Brain: Most people want to keep their options and think well a bad client may become a better client, 20/80 means for every time you have 100, you think of getting read of 80%. Most people can’t make the effort to measure all they do to see clearly that 80% of what they do should be “deleted” and replaced and repeat this all life long, very tiring for the brain!
Resources: You can’t always get read of 80% and get more of the best. Imagine you have 10 masterpiece painting that you like and you think, I will get rid of 8 to get some I like better, you don’t find 8 that you like more. It goes for colleagues.
Heart: you can’t dismiss 4/5 persons to get others
Natural/principles: you can’t eat the 20% of the chicken you like and throw away the 80%, or give the bad pieces/left over to the other members of your family. (It applies to your kids as well). You can’t say to your boss, I have done 1 day work that produces 80% of my results, I will not come to work the next 4 days!
But of course, if you apply a little bit of this THINKING CONCEPT every day (as I have been doing for the past 10 years) YOU END UP LIVING HAPPILY IN LIFE APPLYING THE 20/80 CONCEPT because everything you do in life bring you result, money, satisfaction or love.
NB. In other words, don’t do the things that bring you unpleasant results
