A multi cultural hodge (hot) pot?
First of all one must be clean "inside" (mature and balanced - Ying/Yang in balance) from preconceived ideas and values each culture carries along.
This means ability to withdraw and view situation from a "helicopter view" and have guts to make decisions (good or bad -mostly good ones hopefully).
Let people discover their own faults and their need to remedy them with out brutality. Be clear, accept uncertainty ask for advice on how they would do it and why.
One must be very sensitive to communications, systemic strategy refinement (culture, strategy & process).
One must publish the "metrics" on what fair performance and good performance means (a.k.a. Analytics or Business Intelligence). How to access it.
Align corporate strategy goals with individual goals to let people "grow" and have sense of pride and fulfillment.
And most importantly, one must defend your staff and know how to (amicably) part ways when the facts turn against further collaboration (corruption, dishonesty, amoral behavior, sexual abuse et al). Values are important.
Every one makes mistakes (and we learn from them) but some can (and should) never be tolerated.
The "heart and guts" must be in harmony.
